My bad.. :)

LifeFlight most likely uses Trauma Com 1 or Trauma Com 6. There's also been a lot of chatter on "Central 1" concerning EMS but I have not been able to distinguish whom it is.

Life*Net* also has a helicopter in Texarkana, Arkansas, and they serve as the primary care provider for Miller and Bowie Counties.

Northstar EMS out of Searcy, Beebe, Heber Springs and Quitman seem to use this (Central 1) and commonly refer to it as "State"

This has been my strong suspicion, too, but I didn't want to report it until I could be more sure. I hear the same voices on this channel as I do on their UHF channel in Cleburne county.

Anyone know if Garland Co SO will be moving to AWIN full time after this? They are running Harris Unity now.

It is a possibility. The higher ranking Officers have AWIN use, as do the OEM folks. There is a distinct possibility that with good coverage, you could see at least all the LEA in Garland go AWIN. FDs are another story. I would even hesitate to say HSFD go AWIN off the UHF at least to begin with. Though this would be the perfect time to get the whole city on the same page.

The plan is for Garland County and Hot Springs city public services to go on AWIN. A portable AWIN site was set up at Oaklawn for the Arkansas Derby a couple of weekends ago as a test/demonstration. Reports are that users were pleased with how it worked.

Hot Springs has a pending application for three 700 sites in town. The application is in the city's name, not the state, so not sure yet how it will integrate with AWIN..

So 2 simulcasts, one County, one City.... Plus the other two or three usable sites. Yah that will open it up for everyone.

With my latest dongle, I ran SDR# on those frequency ranges from my QTH in Russellville, but I didn't find anything that I couldn't identify.

And we have a new discovery in Texarkana... They have a new 700 MHz site.... Unknown yet if it is AWIN, or just for Texarkana and tied to AWIN.... Hope we get someone in the area to run a analysis on it and get us details!

I noticed yesterday that the Searcy County ( marshall site) and Baxter County ( Mountain Home site ) are backwards. They should be switched. Marshall should have the 852.2375 set of frequencies and mtn. Home the 851.100 set.

Here are their licenses...

Which, if I'm looking correctly, have the frequencies you said they should. The db shows them as you said they should be. Correct?

I am curious. In the database for the AWIN system the Little Rock Metro Simulcast listing shows 3 transmitter locations. These are at Shinall Mountain, Roosevelt Rd (same as East Little Rock site location), and off of Batesville Pike. Are the Shinall Mountain and East Little Rock sites still operated as single transmitter sites in addition to being part of the simulcast, or are those defunct listings now? The two licenses showing associated with these two sites both show expired in 2006 and 2013.

When using a database driven scanner such as the 436HP or SDS100 the Shinall Mountain and East Little Rock sites are still scanned, and sometimes show activity. However, I believe this is most likely only because they share some of the same frequencies as the LR Simulcast.

No. The database shows the Marshall tower control channel to be 851.100. It should be 852.2375.

If you have corrections submit them. I can not stress this enough again and again and again. The ONLY way the DB stays up to date is by you guys SUBMITTING the info. As for up to date FCC Licenses,... I do not go through daily and look at the licenses. Anyone can look in the DB under the County page, run an FCC search. Or go to the actual FCC ULS search.

What is needed all, is every site in the state to have someone take the time to sit at them and run Pro96Com, or UniTrunker for a few hours and get a GOOD log of EVERYTHING about each site! Then submit the latest data. Sounds like work doesn't it? It is, but it IS the ONLY way for this to get done.

Here are all the AWIN licenses for Pulaski County: Note the UAMS Site, the TV Station Site..... There are sites not listed in the DB that are most likely online and not submitted for fill in spots etc....

If I can figure out how to do this with Pro96com or whatever I will see what I can find out from the Independence County area. I've never done it before so it will be a learning experience. Maybe there are good instructions out there; I haven't looked yet.

Of course, for best results we need people all over the state doing this as milf said.

What's the "ideal runtime" for it to get most everything? A few days?

Depending on which scanner your using as to if Pro96Com or Universal Trunker is better for you. Best run times are at least an hour on a busy site, and several hours for slow sites, up to a day on like a slow site and Sunday. I use my PRO-96, or my BCD396XT for Pro96Com and UniTrunker. It is extrmely easy to set up and run Pro96Com. All you need is the USB cable that you use to program the scanner and iether an scanner supported by the program, or an tapped scanner feeding the control chan to the software. The ReadMe files that come with it explain the process pretty easily to understand. And, you can use the software to feed in with one scannr, and use it to control an second scanner for monitoring! SO I could use my PRO-96 to feed in data, and control my BCD396XT with it at the same time!
