I am lost on where else to look for the BIA frequencies. Out here in Wyoming on the Wind river indian reservation we have the BIA police. On the back of some vehicles they say Federal police. i have been searching for months and maybe I am looking in all of the wrong places. Are they going to be under Federal Freq's or like a local?

The Bureau of Indian Affairs, part of the Department of the Interior, does have some allocated federal frequencies, but they often show up on frequencies in the public safety bands or even on business frequencies. There does not seem to be a set standard for the BIA to operate on, just whatever works for them. Sometimes they piggyback on local or state law enforcement channels.

If they are using federal allocations, try one of these:

Have you tried these?

Shoshone & Arpaho Tribes
NextLevel.gif

155.00250 WQIZ715 BMPublic Safety (I'm thinking this should be 155.025, but the FCC listing RR shows is .0025 as well)
156.18000 WQIZ715 RMPublic Safety Multi-Dispatch
156.19500 WQIZ715 BMPublic Safety Multi-Talk

These all look like they would cover that area from Boysen Peaks on the North to just north of Wind River (Ft. Washakie) on the Southwest

Fremont County, Wyoming (WY) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

Mick, this is from a Mobile radio I believe was previously used by B.I.A. in the midwest:

It very well could be , I had it saved on my computer as B.I.A.-MW, which I recall
meaning it was from a Mid west BIA radio, but I may have screwed up an labeled it incorrectly. Anyway, somebody let us know what you hear on these...

You are right Phil the 3B aka 131.8 Hz PL answers that one

Yep, Bill. How are you? I'm hanging in here (barely).

It is very interesting to see how this was programmed. The 163.1250 in that channel plan was a surprise to me. I also logged something in NYC on that with 131.8 on it. Could it have been? Neat stuff!

I'm watching 166.0000 with a sharp eye. I was picking up some distant, but strong enough for solid copy ,P25 with half encrypted traffic and half clear traffic on it a couple of weeks ago. NAC 001 every time. This could have been the IRS with that NAC. These frequencies need to be watched! ;)

These frequencys came out of an analog only Astro Saber I purchased at fed auction and I have went back
and found the original codeplug and it is indeed IRS/Treasury.They may very well be using the same layout now, just P25.

Around here, 163.1250 is an input to US-ACE, so it was likely not used here in New England.

The last Activity on those channels [3B] was late 90's here.

Wasn't there a REORG and many of the functions moved into/under
Treasury OIG?

I have them at 164.5375R / 172.6375 in

Been busy, weekend Mtn Top trips, finding new and exciting FED's.

New one up here 150.6250 S P25 / $293 still trying to ID who they are.
