I have an AOR 8200 MK3. Something is wrong with the dial on the top left. When I rotate it up, it often behaves as if I am rotating it down. For example, in VFO mode, when I rotate it up, often the frequency decreases instead of increasing. In channel mode, rotating it up often results in me getting the channel with the lower numbered channel instead of the higher one. I have always had this problem with the unit, but now it is much, much worse.

AOR USA wants roughly $100.00 to replace the dial. I trust them. A while back they fixed my AOR 3000 which wasn't powering on and I haven't had any issues since. I'm probably going to send it in to them, but I'm posting to look for cheaper alternatives. I love the radio, but these days I can buy three new SDR's for $100.00. The cost isn't going to kill me, but I need to consider this issue.

Is my problem a known issue? Are there other reputable radio repair shops who can fix this? Can I get a part and replace or repair it myself?

Thanks
