Along with a new CAD platform implemented this morning, there is a new fire box numbering scheme. All fire boxes have been re-numbered based on what the city is calling a "compass point" system. You'll notice a dramatic difference in how the box numbers sound.
"Boxes were renumbered using compass sectors: Box areas containing a fire station are named with a ‘-1’ (6-1, 33-1, T5-1), box areas to the north of station are numbered in the 10’s, counting out (6-10, 6-11, 6-12), box areas to the northeast are numbered in the 20’s (6-20, 6-21), box areas to the east are numbered in the 30’s, box areas to the south east are number in the 50’s, box areas to the southwest are numbered in the 60’s, box areas to the west are numbered in the 70’s and box areas to the northwest are numbered in the 80’s."
