To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi!
I have a Baofeng DM-32UV radio with firmware .46 and CPS DMR software 1.50 and 1.41.
I tried to create a set of channel reflecting my usage, and I ended with a 88 channels list.
I downloaded the radio setting, update the channel and wrote back to the radio.
At this point, I realised that only 16 channels where visible on the radio, either moving with the arrow key or entering directly the channel number.
If I load back from radio into an empty document, I see all the 80 channels, so they are inside but the radio lock from 17 to 88 from my view.
I tried also to write to the radio the original setting I saved (28 channels), and also in this case I was able to see only 16 Ch.

I observed also that my other old DMR radio Baofeng DM-860 has the same problem, but only the first four channel are visible and usable.

Anyone has observed this behaviour? And if not, anyone like to try to load my channel list I attach here (in CSV format) into they radio?

Grazie
Roberto

Every channel in the DM32 must be assigned to a zone, or it won't display. If you loaded these channels as a file, it sounds like the radio put the first 16 channel in zone 1 as a default, but did not assign zones to the others. Suggest you set up multiple zones by location, type, or whatever category you prefer.

Thank you.
I assigned 16 channel to various zone, as from your advice, without success.
I continue to see only the first 16 channels.
Perhaps it will be related to some other 16 channel limit in other setting?
Later today I’ll make some testing and report.

Any one of the readers has programmed more than 16 channel? And what are your setting?

Thank you
Roberto

Roberto - To clarify, you added one or more channels to multiple additional zones, saved that file, downloaded to the DM32, and still only the initial 16 channels appear in the radio? Have you selected the newer zones on the radio? Only one zone can be active at any time.

Hi Chief21,
thank you very much for the clarification.
No, I was not aware that only one zone can be active and that I had to select the "active zone".
I made a selection, and I can see the channels attached to that zone.
So, my problem is resolved! I have to tell that the user manual is not so clear...

Now I proceed to test some other function, as receiving the position from another radio or earing digital communication not specifically addressed to me!

I hope to be able to support some user, in the future.

Ciao
Roberto
