• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have just received my gt-3wp and I have cleared all pre-programmed frequencies but channels 0 and 127 are still on and I have manually reprogrammed it to have channels 1-19. And I have pushed the scan button and it would only scan channels 0 and 127 ??? And I can't get it to scan in T-CTCS or T-DCS mode. And when I try downloading it's program's from a site. I get an error message from Java. I am running Windows 10. And have been for about 9 months. So I can't go back to Windows 7. Can anyone help me. Keegan69

Did you program it manually or did you use CHIRP?

You are probably doing it OK, but a review won't hurt.
1. You must start in the upper display in FREQ. MODE (line A),
2, Enter the first freq.
3. Push MENU > 27 > MENU > 001 > MENU (now your 1st freq. is in CH 001)
Repeat for your other freqs.
After all your freqs. are entered, Press and HOLD the * SCAN button to begin scanning.
Press again to stop scanning.

To clear channels zero and 127:
1. Push MENU > 28 > MENU > 000 > MENU (Now CH 000 is cleared),
2. Push MENU > 28 > MENU > 127 > MENU (Now CH 127 is cleared),

Not necessary. The GT-3 has a VFO/MR button.

We are talking about the GT-3WP radio which doesn't have VFO/MR button.

You're right. It looks like a completely different radio than the GT-3. It seems to be in a UV-82 case.

Did anyone get the Scan function working? Have same issue and for me it makes the radio worthless without being able to scan my stored freqs.
