I see a lot of trains running thru Barstow Ca.
"Behind Barstow Station" .
Is it worth my carrying my scanner when we come thru?
And what channel are they working. I know it's a major switching place, just looking for next time.

For the BNSF, going Westbound from Needles to San Bernardino:

East Needles to Minneola (Road Ch: 055-055)
Minneola to Barstow (Road Ch: 065-065)
Barstow Yard (Road Ch: 032-032)
Barstow to Hodge (Road Ch: 065-065)
Hodge to San Bernardino (Road Ch: 072-072)

From Barstow to Bakersfield:
Valley Jct at Barstow to UP Mojave (Road Ch: 065-065)
UP Mojave to UP Kern Jct (Bakersfield) (Road Ch: 014-014)
UP Kern Jct to East Bakersfield (Road Ch: 084-084)

Thanks again Frank. We planed to go to Vegas but the gas prices are back up.but I come thru Barstow, I 15, and follow the line on 58 out of Mohave.
Well bummer. Maybe a bit later.
BTW always stop at that Mickey Ds , know the place?

When I have to travel, I do follow the Mojave to Barstow and out to Needles route. McDonald's in Barstow is awesome but super built up now compared to what it was.
