BATTERY ERROR on the BR330T

Hello,

Just Unwrapped my BR330T fresh from Uniden and when I put the rechargables in and plugged it in, it said "pre-charging" for about a minute and the displayed "Battery error".
The switch is set to Ni-MH and the batteries are put in in the right direction.

Please Help.

I searched and could find anything that solved the problem.

I had to pull the bottom battery out to grab the serial number. When I popped that one battery back in, same orientation, same everything, it went to 'normal charging'.
