President Barack Obama Bay Area Trip September 25, 2011

He is scheduled to attend a fundraising reception on the afternoon of Sept. 25 at the Woodside home of John Thompson, chairman of Symantec; the cost is $2,500 per ticket, or $7,500 to have a photo taken with the president.

After the Thompson fundraiser, Obama will attend a dinner fundraiser at the Atherton home of Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg; that's event costs $35,800 per plate, and it reportedly will include a question-and-answer period after the president's remarks.

The president is expected to visit Seattle before coming to the Bay Area on Sept. 25. He then will visit the San Diego and Los Angeles areas Sept. 26, and the Denver area Sept. 27 before returning to Washington.

Here's a link to an older thread... If I were a betting person, I'd be programming the SMCo tacticals. Most of the protective units seemed to be drawn from the various city PD's from SMCo.

None of the USSS is very interesting to listen to. Maybe if you remember several days before, but as soon as the POTUS arrives, it's just noise.

Here is some address information:
580 Manzanita Way, Woodside, 94062 | BlockShopper San Francisco

291 Polhemus Avenue, Atherton, 94027 | BlockShopper San Francisco

I didn't know you had an ADS-B receiver, do you have the SBS-1 or AirNav? I've been eyeing those. :)

Any traffic on the USSS repeaters?

I have a microadsb receiver fed to Planeplotter software.

I'm on the wrong side of the hill to hear any USSS traffic.

Wasn't around for the actual landing, but at around 7PM, the VC-25 and two C-17s were at KNUQ.

Also wanted to add that San Mateo Co TAC channels were used to coordinate security detail.

Also to add: 300.125a is a discreet freq for "HOOD"(at least for these particular ops).
I may be incorrect in this, but I think "HOOD" is the callsign for whatever this mission is. Aircraft using this callsign checked in with Oakland Center on 327.4 earlier this evening stating that they were a "flight of two F18's returning to Whidbey Island".

Apparently "HOOD" ONE-ONE suffered a malfunction with his refueling probe door and had to RTB(return to base) because of it, with "HOOD" ONE-TWO escorting him home - while "BIGFOOT" is to coordinate with "HOOD"ONE-THREE and FOUR to assume the "PITBOSS" position and continue detail. Ive so far got about 45min of recordings beginning at about 8pm local (sunday) until now(monday-am). Interesting stuff goin on tonite!

For Vince...

HOOD is the mission call for Oregon CAP flights for which the units are from.

CAP callsigns usually represent the area they are from, ie Mt Hood is in Oregon.

F18's don't do CAP flights as it's USAF specific.
