BC-RH96 Questions

I managed to get a BC-RH96 remote head for my BCT15 recently .. though I do not have it yet but in preparation for the install, I have a few questions.

Can you use the serial port on the back of the scanner for the connection to the remote head ? I heard there may be a menu option for this ?

If so what pins on the DB9 are used and if so did you have to make your own cable or can you purchase one for this purpose ?

I am wondering what pins go to ring and tip on the 1/8 inch stereo plug if I had to make a cable ?

I created a serial cord for it using a $$ worth of stuff from Amazon. I don't recall exactly what I did but Google is your friend. I found all the info including the pinout online.
