Why does the BCD996T and BC15 reset the CloseCall lockouts when I power down the radio? I am not talking of the Temp Lockouts, I know they are supposed to reset when you turn off the radio, but the regular lockouts (two presses on the LO button) on both my BC15 and BC996 always get reset after I turn off the radio.

My radios are set up on the ignition switch, so that they fully power down when I turn off the ignition. This gets very frustrating as I pass several trunked systems and paging transmitters daily and have to continually lock them out.

Did you try entering them, then locking them out in found channels? Keep in mind there are only 250 lockouts available.

But wouldn't (or shouldn't) the radio delete the oldest lockouts when new channels are locked out after it reaches 250 lockouts?

Regardless, I will try clearing the lockout list and see what happens.

I have the BC-15 set up in CloseCall Only mode, that is it's sole function in my car, so it is conceivable that the 250 lockouts limit has been reached...

Are you using the ignition switch to turn the radios on and off? This could reset the radio memory when you turn the vehicle off. Maybe it needs to be hooked to battery.

Yes, they do go on and off with the ignition, all my radios are.

I did a test today and I found that indeed CloseCall Lockouts (Temp and "Permanent") are all reset when you remove power from the radio. I consider this a major flaw in an otherwise wonderful series of radios.

One would think that since all the other paramters are kept during a cold power state and that the radio remembers even the mode it was in when it was turned off that it would store the lockouts during a no-power condition.

While I doubt it could, it would be nice if this could be fixed in a firmware update (Paul are you listening?)
