I've had my 296 for sometime now, and it has been returned once to Uniden for repair. That was about 2-3 years ago, but recently the screen has not been coming on when I power the unit up. But it will come on randomly when i press the backlight. Any ideas? I like it alot and don't want anything else, but sending off to repair always seems to take a month and half... Any help will be and is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
