Is there readily available sources for the programming software for the 296D? This scanner was provided as a beta test scanner and didn't come with the software that the manual stated was included. I'd love to upgrade the software inside the scanner to something more recent than the 2003 version! If the software has to be purchased, let me know, I'm NOT looking for under-the-counter copies.
Do I even need the software to upgrade the firmware or does the upgrade software come as an executable file where all I need to do is plug in the cable and go?
