I currently have the Uniden BC350a mounted in a vehicle and connected to a power source that activates with the ignition. It has been installed for a few months and recently the "memory loss" indicator came on, so I reprogrammed it. After a day or two, the light came back on and continues to do so every time I reprogram it.

After reading the manual I see that the memory battery is supposed to last for 30 days but do not see instructions for how to change it. Does anybody know what kind of battery it takes and if it can be replaced?

It does use a super cap, labeled C71; value is 0.22F 5.5V. Mouser has them - search on the value and pick the one that is closest to the size of the original for best fit in the board. Possible Mouser part numbers: 598-EDC224Z5R5V, 80-FGH0H224ZF, 555-DB-5R5D224T

Always a good idea to turn the scanner off before you cut the power off, and turn it on after the power is restored.
