BC355N Scanning

I have a new BC355N and was wondering how to determine that all the bands are being scanned. Currently all of the bands are showing, but the police band is flashing, is the police band the only one being scanned?

If your trying to search all frequencies it will take forever if it will get something and you'll miss most everything. You'll want to program in the frequencies in your area into the private area of the radio.
Find them by clicking your state, then county. Anything with MODE of DMR, P25 or NXDN if listed are digital, the 355 wont get those.

Since you don't list where you are hopefully there is something to listen to since so many areas of the country are now using trunked radios or digital.

Located in Worcester County Maryland. When I look at the frequencies I can't tell if they are digital or analog.

the frequencies on that page are analog.
if you go to the bottom and click on the county and it says phase ll, that is a digital system.
oops, the jail does say DMR and that is digital.

If your looking to get 911 your looking at getting a trunktracker V digital scanner that can get phase II,
If you got the 355 to get 911 calls, I'd return it if you recently acquired it.

Thank you, we had a scanner that went up and usually only time we turned it on was when the fire/ems siren went off. Appreciate the help, this unit should work fine for us.
