We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. Looking for maybe something newer than listed in older threads. I'm looking for two antenna upgrades for my BC75XLT.

I'd like something at home in my office that gets better reception that the stock antenna. I'm mostly scanning 151-154 and 460 req ranges, fire and PD.

Also something better for when I am out driving around. Sure a roof mount is nice, until I stop and want to take the radio with me.

Just looking for some reasonable worthwhile upgrade.

The Diamond RH77CA is better than the standard rubber ducky that comes with. However, in a vehicle, having anything other than an external antenna (even a mag mount) is not going to give you as good reception. Compromise on the antenna and you compromise on reception.
