Anyone here besides me still using the BC785D? Just curious to see how other ones perform on conventional-but mainly I want to see if there's still some running out there.
Well it's nice to see I'm not the lone ranger here. I wasn't happy with its conventional side until I discovered it was in attenuater mode. Once I turned it off the range improved dramatically. Unfortunately I don't get jack in this region betwen 250-400. I even tried 5khz spacing and nothing. I assume it's the lack of activity here and not that the radio is deaf there. I love my 785 too. I feel it's still valid (even though Uniden has no reference on it here) and I too feel it is bulletproof. Beautiful audio especially in trunking mode (I run it through an old Realistic SP150 communications speaker) and it has that 'station' sound to it
I've heard people talk about broken knobs on the 780/796's? How does this happen?
I can't imagine how mine would break.
