BC796D update problem

Ok, so I'm a few years late updating this scanner, but I've followed all the instructions
to update to ver. 3.29 but I keep getting the message that the card is already
updated. I checked my version which is 3.27. Any thoughts?

Thats odd as there is a separate update for the card itself, the 3.29 update should just be for the scanner. Perhaps try and remove the card and then do the update.

I'm doing this from memory...but when I had a 796, it seems that there were 2 update programs, one for the radio's firmware, and the other for the digital card in the scanner.

Make sure you're using the correct download, and update program.

Thanks guys. Seems I was updating the card and not the firmware. I became confused
with the twp V_UP programs.

Sort of in the same situation with my 796D. However, I don't remember how to check the firmware version. ?????? Help

To find the Firmware Version on the BC796D: Turn on while holding down 2, 4 & 9.
