Bcd 996xt

I have a new scanner Bcd 996xt. I just put my local city system in and at the start of a transmission It sounds garbled or like under water .I have the p25 filter set at 500 mil sec. Is this normal for a digital system. This is my first digital scanner. Thanks

That's what can happen when the signal is weak. Let's start with where you are (county/state will do) and what system you are hearing. Go up to the left, under the site title there's a blue toolbar with a link called Database Use the pulldowns to get to your area. C'mon back with the URL of the system.

Without more information it sounds like a better antenna is called for. best regards..Mike
