BCD436HP Database

Hello all, I am a new BCD436HP user (began using the radio last spring) and am wondering if I should rely on the database from the Uniden site via Sentinel software or do I need to find additional, more current lists to program the radio? The reason I ask is because I'm in St. Louis and cannot seem to hear any StL Fire traffic at all, only MOSWIN and assorted other stations and users. I've looked and looked for updated SLATER talkgroups for StLFD and EMS but am unable to locate anything recent so far. Have the Fire/EMS folks in St. Louis gone to encryption as well maybe?

Hello, Im in Missouri too most of St Louis is Encrypted and so is Slater . Moswin you should receive all day long. Enjoy alot of big cities are Encrypted. Sentinel is from RR. I own a 436 hp too, you can us the ID search feature on you unit and find some freqs not listed.
