Can you put the new SD card directly into your computer with a card reader, leaving the scanner out of this process? It goes faster and eliminates issues with the scanner being in Mass Storage, not connected properly, etc.

Is it actually recognized and being blank or is just not detected? In Sentinel you might need to tick the box that says "Show all drives" after you have selected "Clear User Data".
If it happened suddenly without you doing anything prior to it happening, like writing to the scanner, then the SD card might have moved in its holder, which are very flimsy design, and you'll need to carefully push on the holder and pull it to get it longer from its hinge and it will unlock. Examine the SD card and put it back in and snap the holder in place.
The SD card in itself might have gone bad, usually after a write, and the best way to test are to use the SD card in another device, a camera, a mobile phone or in a separate $5 SD card USB reader.
