I tried to replace the microSD card from 4GB to 64GB but failed, said Error, Clear User Data, only works with 32GB.

I am recording a lot of audio, and I can't be bothered to sync it off so often as 4GB.

I suspect the firmware can't handle 64GB cards, which is disappointing.

I transfered old microSD card data to the new card to get it to work, but what if your microSD card dies with all the data, I couldn't figure out in Sentinel where to install a fresh copy.

Also, how do you know which Favorites list is loaded onto the scanner and which ones are stored only on the computer?

From what I've seen in other posts, its more due to how a 64 card is formatted and the file allocation system.

A 32GB card will hold an awful lot of transmissions. A while back I figured that a 1 minute transmission takes up 1MB of memory.

If you try to "overfill" the card, you'll get a message to the effect the card is full. If the card otherwise "dies", it's just like any other storage media dying - data, at least some of it, probably cannot be recovered.

In Sentinel, you'd install a fresh SD card by using the "Clear User Data" function. That is under the scanner button in the top row. (This is for a new SD card.

You can determine which Favorites Lists are loaded to your scanner in one of two ways. The first is using Sentinel and editing the profile. In the Scan Selection tab, you'll see all of the Favorites Lists. Download "On" means the FL is written to the scanner. If Download is "Off", the FL is only on the computer. (Also Monitor On means the downloaded FL will be monitored. Off means the FL goes to the scanner, but is turned off, which you can turn on if desired).

The other way is on the scanner. It is Menu>Manage Favorites. You will see a list of the Favorites Lists in the scanner.

BCD436HP is using:
16 bits per sample
Sampling rate is 8000 Hz
means 15.625 kb/s

That's ~23 days worth of audio for 30GB.

On 4GB card, audio recording stopped when 3/4th of the card was full, meaning ~700MB was still free, why so much..... They better not be using percentage to determine how much free space to leave, otherwise it'd be 8GB on 32GB card, if that's so, I'll go ape**** on their ***.

I had a somewhat similar but different issue with GoPro supporting 64GB cards, unless the card was formated in the camera, it would not understand it, when formatted by Windows. It was fixed with a firmware update, same can be done here... hardware wise there's nothing different between SDHC and SDXC support.

I've been using a 64GB card for many months. I suspect you didn't format it properly before using the CLEAR USER DATA option. It MUST be formatted as FAT32 first.

And yes, the maximum guaranteed card size supported is 32 GB. But again, I've had no issues with my 64 GB card.
