BCD536HP DIN-E Install?

I'm thinking about installing a 536HP with a DIN-E in dash application. Has anyone else done this, and was it a good experience? I'm also wondering if I need a special harness to have the audio run through my truck's sound system? One more thing... can I use the Wi-Fi dangle in a mobile application?

You can use the WiFi. I would recommend the DIN mount. As for the stereo speakers, I've never found that a good solution. I use external speakers made for radios (I favor the Motorola ones).

As noted above the WiFi dongle still works. That will allow a remote device to control the scanner with the Siren App. That's a great help for those having vehicles not suitable for DIN mounting.

Also if you use that Siren App with an iPhone that connects to you vehicle's radio via Bluetooth, that would cause the audio to come through you vehicle's radio. (Otherwise use your basic audio cable to connect from the Line Out on the rear of the scanner to an input on the vehicle's radio.)

I've used the Bluetooth setup, but I have to give up listening to other things on the vehicle radio. So like Voyager, I use a remote amplified speaker.

I have a DIN mounted 536hp. I got the DIN-E kit from here. It's mounted in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler. I replaced the factory stereo with a single DIN unit with a flip out screen to allow the scanner to fit in the second half of my double DIN stereo slot.

I need to open my dash again and wire it to an external speaker. The stock speaker points downward, which is mostly useless inside the dash.

I have not attempted to use the wifi dongle while mobile. I am not happy with the quality of the iOS app so I prefer to use the scanner directly while I'm mobile.
