They sell replacements (not OEM) on Ebay. Available in some colors, even Glow in the dark.

I find it unbelievable that Uniden refuses to sell them. Is it in warranty? If so ask them to replace the defective scanner. Volume knobs should not crack in half. The old BC780XLT scanner was infamous for decades for cracked volume knobs!

If you still have both pieces you could try one of the super glues like “Gorilla”. Just don’t try and glue them while holding the two pieces on the control shaft or using too much glue where it blocks the shaft opening. A small C clamp can be applied quickly after glueing the parts and slip it over the shaft BEFORE the glue sets and then remove it. Do this quickly, BEFORE the glue sets, it’s to assure you have a clean opening. Let the glue cure and put the knob back on the radio.

Mine split in half. Anyone know where I can get one? Tried Uniden, but they don't/won't sell them.
This Search results - Uniden Bearcat Scanners, CB Radios, Accessories, and More! - page 2 place sells knobs marked for the BCD996XT but I'm pretty sure they also fit the 536HP models as well.
The item says it also needs the spring insert but if your knob broke in half, that spring steel insert is likely still on the volume control shaft.
I've never dealt with this company so I can't vouch for them but I have seen several other regulars here in the Uniden forums mention them as well.

I myself bought knob sets for my x36HP models from the same seller on eBay but not the glow in the dark model that @iMONITOR was talking about. They are laser printed knobs and are generally easier to grab as the set also comes with a new function control knob.
Those eBay knobs also fit my older XT models as well as the 996P2 models.
I'm not sure why but when I ordered four black colored sets, they also included a full set of yellow and red knobs for the three controls that use knobs. I ended up using them for a day on an older 996T model but didn't really care for the red or yellow color so they probably live in my parts bins now.
I'm not positive I did get them from eBay and I may have found the same seller on Amazon but I think both had the same cost and free shipping.

That's exactly how I repaired that nearly impossible to get tiny volume control knob the BC780XLT uses!
I super glued the halves together and clamped them in a small vice for a day maybe. At least 5 years later now, the original 780XLT volume knob is still holding together.
