Is the router WiFi enabled?
In the scanner Wi-Fi Setup, go to Set Connection then choose Infrastructure Mode. You should see a message "Looking for networks" After that, does the router WiFi network name show up?

The scanner Wi-Fi dongle works with 2.4GHz and WPA2 security so it should connect.
Is the router WiFi 2.4GHz enabled and did you verify the Network Name (SSID) and password in the setup?

After you verify that the router WiFi setup is good then go into the scanner Infrastructure Mode and see if the network name shows up.

Here's a link to the manual in case you don't have it

I wouldn't worry about that

Would you provide better feedback so we can help.
Again,

I had the same problem with my 536. Check your SSID settings. When I shared the same SSID with 2.4G and 5G on the router, it caused an issue with the 536 connecting. Once I split the SSID's and changed the name of the 2.4G network, connection resumed.

I could scan and see the WiFi network. I was just unable to connect with the network, even with the correct password.

Note, this is a setting in the router to share the SSID and allow the router / device to pick the best network. I did not manually choose to set both SSIDs identically. For whatever reason, sharing the SSID between both layers caused a problem for the 536.
