BCD536HP WiFi Problem

Is there an update for the wifi function I have been trying to connect to my wifi at home and when I put in the password for the wifi to connect it don't connect ???

1. Download Wi-Fi-Updater.zip.
2. Unzip the files downloaded in Step 1. Then, unzip the files in STM_VCP.zip.
3. Navigate to the STM_VCP directory and run either VCP_V1.3.1_Setup.exe or VCP_V1.3.1_Setup_x64.exe depending on whether you are running a 32-bit or 64-bit OS.

Run as administrator

When installing drivers and running these updates, be sure to
Run as...Administrator

so that it has access to your WiFi dongle and all the necessary hardware.

This question comes up repeatedly so it should be documented in a wiki at least.

I did every thing it said but when I go to write the update to wifi it gives me an error msg!!!! I gave up for today

i had the same error

before you do the final step

right click on the firmware updater program

click properties

click the compatibility tab

check the box that says run the program in compatibility mode for then i picked windows xp service pack 3

check the box that says run this program as admin.

hit apply

then do last step

WiFi Update Problem

When I try to launch the updater, I get a message that states "PC Cannot Detected Com Port". I am connected via the USB cable and I do get a connection when I run the Sentinel program? I am running Windows 7 32-bit. Thank you

Did you install the drivers for the wifi dongle so Windows will recognize it and give it a com port? Then check device manager and see if it's there with a com port assigned.

It's been one of those days

and it's only Wednesday! I had the WiFi dongle attached to the back of the scanner. I though it would update through the scanner. So I re-read UpMan's instructions again and it said to plug the dongle into my PC... duh.... once I did that it updated find. Now I just have to find how to get the Siren app for my iPad and iPhone....
