I used to play with scanners and been missing out so figured I would pick one up. The previous ones I used was a PSR-500 and a whistler model.
One main thing I'd like to use the scanner for is searching for activity that is outside of your typical county services - federal, aviation, marine, etc.
I used to be able to set the scanner to search a set of frequencies using limits (lower freq to up freq) and it would give me the NAC used for the communication. I would then take the NAC and the frequency and look it up to find information on what agency, company, etc use that specific NAC. Basically NAC searching instead of scanning through a set of already known talk groups etc.
Is this functionality available to the Uniden 996p2 and 536HP models?
