What software? Protocol.pdf is a document file that describes the command set used to control the scanner remotely using a computer.

That document is used if you want to write your own software for the scanner, it does not show you whats in your scanner but tells you what commands you must use in a program to tell you what's in it. It is only the Pc interface commands.
