Sorry if this post has already been answered prior, I looked around and didn’t see anything.
I have a BCD996HT that had a bit of coffee spilled on the face. All the number buttons working fine, volume and squelch as well. The scan search, and the hold resume on the far right side seem to work intermittently in time after this.
I have opened the radio and checked to make sure the ribbon connections are good and I don’t believe that to be the problem. Just those two buttons on the far right as described. Any recommendations on possibly an alcohol cleaning of those two buttons? I thought maybe Squirting some alcohol into those buttons, working them a little bitand blowing them out with canned air. Then letting the radio sit for a week or so to completely dry out. My last choice would be opening the radio up and going in further and getting access to the front board and cleaning better. I just didn’t want to go to that extent, any suggestions? TIA
