BCD396XT/BCD996XT: BCD996xt: Key Safe Mode Off?

I have "Key Safe Mode Off" displayed on my screen and cant do anything with the scanner. No buttons work. Any help or assistance getting the scanner would be much appreciative.

Toggle "Key Safe Mode" until it says "off"

It works for me.

Turn the scanner off.

Hold in the big silver knob.

Turn the scanner ON

Is your scanner actually displaying "Key Safe Mode Off" as you posted? Or is it actually saying "Key Safe Mode On" when you try to push buttons??

If Key Safe Mode is stuck on, try resetting the scanner. Turn scanner off. Press and hold in 2, 9, and HOLD while turning on the scanner until the opening screen appears.

This could also be a keypad issue if the keys really "do nothing".
