Stopped working is a poor description of what is happening. What is the exact problem? Crashes in windows, can't load database, can't update scanner??????

Reseat the cable and reinstall drivers and reboot. Go into Device Manager and check Properties to see is everything is labeled to be working properly (should say as much in the box) and to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks to signal a conflict on any of your Ports.

Why recommend possible fixes when the problem is unknown? If the database server is still offline and the OPs problem is "can't load database", why do anything?

Get message BCDx36HP Sentinel stopped working. Downloaded new version and will still not work.
I am using Windows 10.
Any ideas.

You didn't uninstall the .Net Framework 2.0 by any chance?

That is the exact message the OP received when starting Sentinel.

I started having the problem when my microSD card stopped working on my BCD536HP. I installed a new card and was in the process of installing the new firmware and frequencies. Sentinel opened, cleared the new disc but then would not load anything from the Uniden servers. I call Uniden twice. They told me to reinstall Sentinel that is when I received this message. I have reinstalled 5 times.
I have not uninstall the .Net Framework 2.0? I have reinstalled the version I was using back in February. That was working then. That did not fix the problem either.
Operating system is Windows 10.
Any help would be appreciated.
This is a screen shot of the message I am receiving.IMG_1520.JPG

Are you able to run the software if you are logged in as a different user? I had a similar situation come up last week, it would flash when I tried to start it but would not run. It gave all the signs of a bad .net installation. It only affected one profile so I knew it was an easy fix, eventually I found out that it was a corrupt user.config file

If you have something similar to this (the red font below) in your Windows 10 logs, that's what's going on, look for CLR20r3, that's the error, it will probably say Configuration for Event Name, not what you see below in this example...

The user.config file may be corrupted. This file is generally found in the folder "...\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\<application_name>\...\user.config"

The fix is to delete the user.config file and let the application recreate it, worked me.

Mine in Windows 10 Pro was located at (replace the "Jennifer" with your user name of course):

C:\Users\Jennifer\AppData\Local\Uniden\BCDx36HP_Sentinel.exe_Url_abqsk2nho02xj05iqogfzzs5adwkwlkr

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: CLR20r3
Problem Signature 01: scnotification.exe
Problem Signature 02: 5.0.0.0
Problem Signature 03: 4f42f5b2
Problem Signature 04: mscorlib
Problem Signature 05: 4.0.0.0
Problem Signature 06: 4ee9af8e
Problem Signature 07: 3fda
Problem Signature 08: 13c
Problem Signature 09: IOIBMURHYNRXKW0ZXKYRVFN0BOYYUFOW

PS: If this is your issue, it's similar to what's happend to several of us in the past and is found via using the search keyword CLR20r3

Yes, that worked.
Thanks so much!
WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO ANOTHER WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!!!!!!

They really should add this obvious bug to the Sentinel manual as something to check, glad I was able to help, it had me stumped for ages.
