I have a BCT-15 that has a dark display when i first turn it on but after it has been on only maybe 15-30 seconds it fades to a faint contrast, i can change it from level 1 to level 15 with little to no change after it has been on the 15-30 seconds. I can read it but it is faint, like level 1 and will not get any darker. I Have switched it a different wall wart with no change. Anyone else had this problem or know a fix or something else to check?

Thanks

I've come home after leaving it on for about 5 hours and it appears to be almost as dark as my other one and the contrast does change.. maybe it just hasn't been used for a while or something, hopefully it isn't failing but it appears fine now...hmmm... will see!

I wish Uniden would use a key to change the light levels of the displays like GRE does. I used to turn the light out every night at bedtime. on my Pro 2055 when I used it inside.

On the BCT-15 Push in Function Knob and then push in VOL Knob

On 996 just push in VOL knob
