Install looks great. I also have a 2006 Tacoma and have been racking my brain as to where to put my new 996T. Can you give me more infro how you did this, This looks like a different
plate around the radio. Can you tell me where you got it ?

It's stock. The BCT-15 has a black faceplate from the factory.

Definitely a nice job. Now if they would only make a dash that I could mount all 6 scanners into!

Thanks! the install kit is scosche brand and i got it from http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5774_Scosche+TA2053B+-+TA2053.html
and it is the stock plate around the radio
and the install was super easy just follow the instructions that come with the kit
i used the factory am/fm antenna ( I made a splitter) and i tapped the power from the pioneer radio.
I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the kit, it is not cheap plastic!

Hell that looks good!

I have an O5 Tacoma that I am looking to put my 996 into.

The factory double din CD is installed.

Following the sonicelectronix link it shows that kit a standard double din radio kit.

How did you get two radios at 2" high a piece to mount securely into that housing?

Is there any cussion or facteners between the two units?

Thanks!

Very nice. I installed mine in my mustang just like that, but I wish it was as high as yours, though. Mine had to go in the way bottom, but I guess it works out since it's hard to spot it from the outside (car burglars/crackheads) It's so nice to have the scanner out of the way. This is a very good scanner to have in a vehicle due to its features.
