• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

Has anyone had to repair the external speaker jack on the bct 15? My speaker quit working one day after using the external jack. This happened months ago and I have been using the jack with external speakers to listen. I want to repair this myself if there is an easy fix.
So, by accident I had my computer plugged into the record out and I was going to plug in speakers to the rear external jack. The plug went in half way and I heard the speaker through the scanner. I tried it with two separate cables not attached to any thing and the speaker works. Is the jack stuck? I really dont want to send to Uniden unless I have to. I lost my receipt for the scanner and dont want to pay unless I have to. Thanks for any assistance.

How do you fix it? It looks like it is a sealed unit? Its not like the old days when you could just pry it open and its good to go. I really dont want to send it out unless I have to.
