I recently had to upgrade my laptop from a Windows XP Machine to a Windows 7 amchine and I had to upgrade the USB to Serial cable also for 64 bit. I cannot get my new equipment to see the BCT8 scanner anymore? Anyone had anysuggestions or am I using the wrong serial cable?
Thanks, JB

Did you install the correct driver for Windows 7 64 Bit? With the USB device unplugged from the port install the USB Serial port driver, reboot, open the device manager and plug in the USB serial device. A COM port enter should appear in the device manager, click the + box and the COM port number should appear.
If you see a yellow question mark in the COM port section the driver is not working with Win7 64 bit, check to make sure you have the correct driver.

Win 7 64 bit drivers aren't easy to find; I understand not every distributor is making them...Mike

Thanks so much for your quick reply I have been using the USB adaptor on many other applications and working fine. I may not have the proper cable for the scanner I have tried both a straight through and a null modem cable but still no luck? I can get the alert function and light to sound when I click on upload but thats it I still get a message that it doesn't see the radio?
Still trying, JB
