• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Anyone tried a Bee case for their G5? I can't find anyone who sells them online, but they do show up in their catalog PDF. Looks a lot like the Minitor i holster. I want something like that, and with a belt loop, not a clip. The Unication and Turtleback cases are't quite what I'm looking for. (Page 20 of their catalog) Bee Cases catalog

I sell them. I can't say I've seen anyone who has purchased them yet. We sell a Leather and Nylon for the G4/G5. With or without belt clip.

Jeff@Beltronics.net, if you want more info.

These designs from Boston Leather are very nice as well! Much slimmer and form fitting than some of the others.
I've used a lot of Boston stuff before. I looked at these, but I wish they had done a better job on the bottom of them. They look sort of unfinished. The Bee case is basically a full holster like the old Minitor I cases. which I like. I don't think I'm going to want to use the fron controls or display when it's in the holster - I'll just pull the pager out.

I do appreciate the suggestions from everyone. Thanks.

mmm is there a way to get the 4327 with a belt clip on the back because my g4 didnt come with a belt clip.

Currently only offered with a belt loop. These are mainly popular with those who are wearing their pager while working in jobs that are subject to a lot of abuse (mechanics, tow operators and farming come to mind). The belt loop provides a much more positive securement than belt clips when getting in/ot of vehicles, crawling under vehicles, etc.

This sounds and might look hokey, but my G5 performs perfectly in the nylon belt case for my SDS100. I have a mic clip mounted on my dashboard, and the case fits securely there. The G5 with its belt clip still attached slips right into the case, making the display perfectly readable, and no problem hearing the G5 through the plastic even though the holes are located further down on the case. I've been using it more for my G5 in the car than the belt used for my SDS100.

When I head out to the garage today, I'll take a photo of it and post it to this forum.

I'm probably the only one who read the topic and thought "Bee leather? That's new! I wonder how many bees it would take to make a G5 case...."
I thought it was leather cases for the bees. All my bees have vinyl cases because of the weather.

You risk the SDS100 becoming resentful of the G5. Should you find both in pieces on the floor, your SDS, in a final act of bitterness, will have undoubtedly initiated a murder-suicide. Don't say we didn't warn you!

Just a follow-up: I got one of the Bee cases through member jeffycc (see first resply above) It's pretty nice. Very reminiscent of the old Minitor I belt cases, as I had mentioned looking at the catalog photos. Thick leather, with imitation "dot" snaps on the belt loop. bee2.jpg
