• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I know I just posted a thread but I didn't want to hijack it so I started a new one.. There is a setting on the analog and digital side of my PSR 500 that will let me set a certain sound (BEEP) at each transmission.. I have set them on and tried different ones, It will not do any of that, Can anyone explain why? Does there have to be a certain type of P25 system before it will work? I've tried it on SEVERAL different systems/frequenies digital and analog, Can anyone say why it won't work? Just curious..

What is your sound mode set to in the GLOB menu? If it's set to stlth you won't hear any sounds. Set it to On to hear them.

Ok I found it under sound mode and it is on, Here's one to figure out, I have V folders enabled on this one I can't hear them but on the other on I was on earlier today, I can, Why is that? It's set to on, Should I erase it and start over?

I got it.. It wasn't in the sound on/off sound.. It was In the ALERT MODE it was set to LED and should have been on BOTH.
