Does anyone know if Belleville IL Police changed over to the CenCom digital trunked system (or other)?

I have a report from a local monitoring buff that their usual frequencies have now fallen silent.

Any local reports?

Thanks in advance & Happy Scanning! - Ted

It's all listed on the Starcom21 page.

I think the activity on 453.95 is a patch from SC21.

SC21 is active with multiple TG including Car-to-Car and has been for at least a couple weeks.

7236 1c44 D Bv Police F1 Belleville Police Department: Dispatch - Simulcast/Patch
7237
1c45 D Bv Police F2 Belleville Police Department (*assumed, not heard in use yet)
7238
1c46 D Bv PD c2c F3 Belleville Police Department: Car-to-Car [F-3]
7239
1c47 D Bv PD ??7239 Belleville Police Department? (voice 1/23/09)
7240
1c48 D Bv PD 7240*E Belleville Police Department? Encrypted (1/15/09)

F-1 has been verified to match 453.95
F-3 has been verified as "Channel 3" with car-to-car ops, with addresses matching Belleville

These are what I've found the channels to be. I use ProScan, and have played back the recordings on each of these channels, and this is how they've been identified:
7236-Belleville PD Dispatch (Ch1)
7237-Belleville FD Dispatch (Ch2)
7238-Belleville PD Car-Car (Ch3)
7239-Belleville FD Car-Car (Ch4)
7244-Belleville FD Supervsr (Ch5)

In addition to thoese channels, there are the following:
7235-Belleville Unidentified City Agency I've only heard this channel used once, by one of the Belleville dispatchers. It was a single transmission discussing Shenaningans(sp?) bar in Belleville. I believe that she was on the wrong channel at the time.

I've heard a great deal of encryption on this channel, possibly a Belleville PD investigations channel?
7240-Hearing a lot of encrypted traffic.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks... great work.

Seems to match a lot of what I already had, and the notes.

Note I had on 7244
7244 - heard unit saying "this may work much better for us than Nextel, for the 4 of us, when we need to give a message for all of us" Heard a little more talk, not much else (2/3/09)

I've updated the SC21 database page!

Thanks again

Yesterday I heard people on the Fire Supervisor channel saying "I'm going back to channel 1" referring to their radio channel. This is contradictory to how I've heard the channels referred to in the past. In the past, I've heard PD Dispatch referred to as channel 1, unless they (Belleville PD) have Police Dispatch in the Channel 1 position in their radios and the Fire Department has Fire Dispatch in the Channel 1 position in their radios, but this would seem to be a lot of extra work.

In short, just as an FYI, the identifiers of "F1" and "F2" might be transposed. The talkgroup names themselves are correct.

Thanks,

Steve
