Rumors are that the Bergen County PSOC will soon transition to a multi-site, multi-frequency (VHF high band, UHF T-Band, and 700 MHz) simulcast paging system, and consolidate all public safety paging for those agencies dispatched by PSOC onto three (3) distinct frequencies. Does anyone have details about this plan? That is, if and when it might happen?

For PSOC dispatched agencies, the plan is to give VHF and UHF paging capabilities across the county, not just from a single site. These would be common paging freqs for all agencies.

Last I heard this was slated to be up and running by the end of the year.

Oakland FD might be the last remaining hold out on low band for paging.

Paramus announces 33.44 MHz as a frequency during its nightly radio test. Any idea what that frequency is used for?

They still have low band pagers out there, but all the operations are on UHF. I would think in would be the same with the ambulance and 39.6000 and 155.2950 but VHF Pagers are more common.

They don't. EMS has been off VHF for quite some time, paging and operating on the old Fire 3 (453.375).
