I'm looking for recommendations on a listen only ear piece. As a reference, what I'm talking about is this:

Listen only ear.jpg

Previously, I bought one of these but the one I received, was defective, had to send it back and get a replacement. Apparently, the low price, did not ensure a first out of the box, satisfactorily experience. I'd like recommendations from current users.

I understand that, these things, due to the nature of their build, are prone to fail or performance issues, so, I'm looking for users who have had a high performance, trouble free use out of their chosen gear.

I intend to plug this into a Noxgear 39G bluetooth speaker so a 3.5mm connection is a must.

TIA.

Never liked that particular form factor. I always preferred the single ear headset type due to the better sound isolation of the earmuff.

I find it a bit odd that you are using a bluetooth speaker with a wired headset for this setup. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but why the extra conversion?

device --> wireless ---> wired --> ear?

I am confused why you want to plug wired headphones into an already bluetooth speaker.
Just use wireless bluetooth ear buds. If your device you are listening to already has bluetooth... golden. If not, there are plenty of bluetooth adapters to be had. Then just use the bluetooth earbuds of your choice.

Yea wired something into a bluetooth is different. Checkout products from here...GOLD STANDARD for broadcast! They are making some inroads into public service use...

Privacy. Can't get that with a blaring speaker. The Noxgear is a great BT paired with the Unication G4.
However, if there's some distance between both devices, body mass, in certain positions, the audio tends to break up.
Wearing the Noxgear, right next to the G4, ensures a more stable connection.

Agreed ... however I think we missed something. There is a way to achieve what you want... without using that bluetooth speaker. Like I mentioned above in my post, utilize the bluetooth in the device, or purchase a bluetooth adapter, and then use bluetooth earbuds.

UNLESS ... you already have that Noxgear bluetooth speaker, and you are looking for ways to incorporate that with a wired ear piece?
And if that is the case, its not a great solution either.

Yes, I own a Noxgear. Reason I'm inquiring about...this solution, is because of the discreet factor.
I've previously owned one of these, not sure or remember what brand but, when I received it, the acoustic tube, was damaged, had to return it and get another one.

Seems this is a weak point in the design thus, my reason for looking for the very best quality brand out there, if there's one...

Okay ... like mentioned more than once... there are options available to you that are discreet. However you are ignoring them and levitating to using your bluetooth speaker that you already own.

SO, now that we have that out of the way, it seems like you are only looking for a wired earpiece such as pictured in your original post.
Correct?

Yes!
The above device, being clear plastic, blends pretty much with the skin.
I can't imagine what else you have in mind that would serve my purpose, but, yeah, I'm intent on plugging the wired device into the Noxgear.

If I wanted another BT dangling from my ear, I have 3 BT earbuds with varying degrees of functionality with the G4.

Problem is, they're noise cancelling and although they do have an ambient noise mode, they tend to be VERY noticeable from a distance.

A Unication G4 pager does not have an external audio plug and, the range of BT devices able to pair and work SATISFACTORILY with the G4's ancient BT protocol is quite small and none, that I know of, can be discreetly worn in ear.
The Noxgear works great but, if there's any body mass, clothing in the way of it and the pager, the audio breaks up.
Wearing the Noxgear on my waist, next to the pager and using the audio jack with a device like shown above, I can wear it without it being as noticeable in my ear.

Lots of the single ear “surveillance” earphones have a mono plug that will short the left/right stereo jacks and result in low volume and (maybe?) damage to the audio source. A Bluetooth speaker with a 3.5mm headphone jack is almost certainly going to have a stereo pinout. I know there are “stereo to mono” adapters on Amazon but I’ve never used one and have seen mixed reviews.

I’ve bought a few of these ^ over the years for use with my SDS100 (which I believe has a stereo headphone jack). They’re cheap and direct from China. The quality won’t win any NAMM awards and it certainly isn’t good for high noise environments, but it is one of very few options I’ve seen that have a stereo (TRRS) plug feeding a single earphone. For $10 and free shipping I recommend you give it a shot.

Not sure what Blue Tooth you have "dangling from your ear" but there are endless options of Blue Tooth earbuds/headphones/ available.
It even sounds like you have 3 BT options already... Maybe this is a problem with your G4 NOT being able to pair with Blue Tooth.

I feel your pain, I walk every morning and had the same issue a few months ago. My route takes me through some sketchy neighborhoods and I REALLY didn't want my G4 blasting while I was there! The Noxgear although a great unit, was the opposite of what I was looking for. I was also trying to be discrete and not advertise that I was listening to LEO.
My solution was a cheap bluetooth headphone dedicated to just my G4

Very discrete and loud enough to hear over traffic and other ambient noise. No-one was the wiser. Just remember to turn off the Bluetooth call announce setting if you start to hear the "Incoming call" announcement.
Hope this helps .....
