If you can get a trunk lip mount to fit or if you want to drill a hole, any mobile antenna will work if you stick some copper or aluminum tape ground radials on the underside of the body. Home Depot sells 2" wide aluminum tape and you can run several pieces and overlap at the trunk mount or hole so the antenna mount grips the metal tape when everything is tightened down. I've installed dozens of VHF/UHF and CB antennas on Corvettes this way over the years but the last one was probably 25yrs ago.

I don't want to do any drilling just want the easiest mount. It is too bad that I can't get the performance that I get on a metal car using the Antenna Specialist Mon-51 magnet mount antenna. This antenna is an excellent performer.

I haven't looked at a Corvette in years but have seen some mounts that are bent angle brackets that can mount on the insside of a trunk opening without visible holes on the outside of the vehicle and the NMO mount sits above and to the side of the trunk lid so it opens freely. This type mount and some aluminum tape should work with your MON-51. I have a few MON-51 whips and they are the best for VHF lo band.

Funny you should mention that because I have about 3 of them on magnet mounts but some of the coax is not good on one or two of them.
I wish there were some pics I could see of what the set-up you are mentioning.
