Howdy and good weekend to all.

I am interested in what settings seem to work the best when programming DMR as conventional channels. I am only interested in conventional programming, unless you know of a specific instance when it absolutely won't work as conventional (for instance, a control channel).

I am trying to determine the best settings to use as defaults for my website (DMR Frequency Quick Import). It's not feasible to streamline importing for the DMR 1 Frequency and Trunked System types.

What have you found to be the most reliable settings for receiving DMR when programmed as a conventional system?

As the firmware is still in BETA, and it has not been fully completed, I would recommend waiting until the Final Release comes out before working on all the settings, and trying to find the "perfect" setting.

The reason I say this is because I have noticed the audio improves with every release of the beta firmware. I have not installed RC4 yet, but im sure there will be significant audio improvement.

Personally I've found setting each conv channel as FM Modulation, Digital Threshold Level set to Manual and to a low setting (2) and Wait Time is set at default 400ms works best.

Thanks jHampton! I was thinking a lower threshold would be best too, but I wanted some input. I think I'll use something very similar to this for the site. I'm currently upgrading the Sentinel Quick Import.

Note the lowest threshold I can get via programming my 436 via the keypad is 5. If I use ARC536Pro, I can get it all the way down to 0, same as P25. My main objective has been to try and begin to decode conv DMR simplex, which seems impossible if set it above 5 (and is till very patchy even when set at 1 or 2). On a lower setting for DMR repeaters, I *guess* you might find some more false positives for things like TGID decode etc maybe (I'm just not 100% sure about this?)

Perhaps I am missing the key documentation (if so, please provide quotes or links -- certainly would be useful), but this is all I got from the documentation:

"Set Audio Type -- > Digital Only then set Search (for any Color Code) or Set DMR Color Code and select the code used by the service."

Either way, the "official" settings might not always be the best, especially for every situation. I'm trying to help people receive DMR. I have no skin in the game, except I want to help my fellow man who has spent a lot of money on devices in order to receive DMR. Anyone who shares their advice will be helping everyone who uses my website receive DMR. I do not hold information hostage and I do not charge. I even created tools to make it easy to get the data into various scanner programming software (which will then be used to further the database that will hold the data hostage -- but, hey, that's fine, whatever).

Forgive me if I missed some post somewhere, I've been busy developing.

If anyone has a link to documentation or has experience receiving DMR, I should be very appreciative if you share it here.

V1_11_08 readme file.
1. Modified reception of Capacity Plus systems
2. Speedup preparation for voice reception in DMR One Freq
3. Supported reception of simplex DMR transceiver
Should set Digital Threshold Mode to manual and Modulation to FM
4. Modified how Digital Threshold Mode/Level data in MotoTRBO and DMR One Freq are saved
5. Modified the number of digits of Site ID in System Status mode of BCD436HP
6. In conventional mode, if Channel Name = Frequency (i.e. default), changed the name display to Network ID and Site ID and TGID
7. Added the detected channel number of frequency and system name (DMR/CON/CAP/DT3) in System Status mode
8. Supported saving color code by Advanced Channel Menu in DMR One Freq
9. Modified to compatible format of discovery log file
10. Added color code condition in LCN Finder and Trunk Analyze
11. Supported display and Advanced Channel Menu saving and Trunk Discovery for NAC in P25 One Freq

As for simplex DMR reception (direct from transceiver), the above setting change above is necessary. Because it is TDMA burst signal, the slot information in the top of slot is sometimes missed.
