I have a Uniden Bearcat BCD325P2 and live in the Fort Worth area. I listen to several different sites on the Fort Worth Regional Radio system. When I am in my car, I miss some radio traffic. For example, I will hear dispatch tones set off for fire callouts, but don't hear the voice dispatch. Then I will hear the tail end of the dispatch or units checking enroute.

Is there a better rubber duck style antenna that picks up the 800 MHz systems? That's really all I listen to, so I don't need a broad spectrum antenna. I have tried the Harulu double antenna, but it wasn't any better.

Thanks in advance!

Radio Shack telescoping CENTER loaded HAM antenna is the BEST Scanner I have ever used , its 6" closed for 800mhz but it can also extent to a full 26" for CB and VHF AIR / VHF Marine as well.
however, in a CAR any Whip or Rubber Duck antenna is not efficient, you really need a Window Clip mount (external) or a External Mobile Mount antenna for BEST reception. Radio Shack used to make a MOBILE mount antenna the SAME as the Hand Held one with a Center Load and Telescoping Sections.

Yep, the Remtronix 800mhz antenna is the way to go. Marketed under several names, I believe Remtronix is the actual original manufacturer, but I could be wrong. The Rat Shack put their name on it in their stores, as did other dealers. Best 800mhz duck ever made. I use it with a window clip mount on my truck and it works great.
