I just downloaded the 30 day trial of the PSREdit500 software.
From what I've read, there is a way to import the information
from the Win500 via a .bin file. Where do I find that file or how
do I create one?

Thanks,

Not sure I understand your question. Win500 is the other "made in the USA" software for the GRE-made PSR-500 family of scanners. While Win500 will open and save files in the .bin format, your question makes more sense to me if I substitute PSR-500 for the Win500 that you wrote.

Can you just use WIN500 to upload to the scanner and then download to PSREdit? I see that you don't want to load everything but it's only a few seconds and a lot faster than doing everything with the computer.

Thanks,

In WIN500 you go to the `FILE' menu and go down to where it says `EXPORT' there you will be presented a `SAVE AS' window where you can both choose *where* you want to save along with also being able to give the file a name. Just go ahead and save the file into the directory that PSREdit500 keeps it's files, they are all .BIN files, using your chosen name.

In PSREdit500 all you should have to do is then go to PSREdit500's `FILE' menu and click on the `OPEN' entry and choose the file you just saved there. Then it is on to `playing with' your file with PSREdit500. {VB GRIN!}

Unfortunately it isn't quite as easy to go from PSREdit500 to WIN500. The easiest way *I* have found has been to put whatever you have developed using PSREdit500 into the scanner as a `V-Scanner' and then downloading that `V-Scanner' from the scanner into WIN500. Still... *I* figure that it is a small price to pay to have the use of the 2 different programs abilities. While both programs are great programs on their own they *both* do/have things that they that are either better or easier to do in one and not the other. (At least that is how it is for me. Take you time evaluating both of them and you might find that it is the same with you and quite worthwhile to own/use both programs.)
