So I'm going to drag my FT817ND and my Outbacker antenna out and start playing again. The built in battery is meh, so I want to get the Bioenno 4.5 ah battery to use with the radio. Couple of questions. Has anyone hear bought the Bioenno battery and how do you like it, and also is there a ready made powerpole to FT817 cable. I don't want to buy ten powerpole when I know I will only use one. Thanks in advance!

I can't speak to that particular Bioenno battery but I will say my club has two Yeasu Fusion repeaters that are powered by a pair of Bioenno 50Ah batteries that are maintained by a pair of 100W solar panels. It makes the repeaters grid independent and the system has operated without flaws for about five years now.

That speaks volumes!

No experience with that battery, but for powerpole solution

I have this adapter/port saver and a the 3Ah bioenno BLF-1203AB battery. It packs well and performs well.

I appreciate the adapters that go on the back of the radio, however the cable on the battery is short. Is there possibly a powerpole to Yaesu input cable?

I have one, but it came with my radio when I bought it used. You can either make one, or buy a power pole extension cable: ebay
