Just returned from a vacation to the Georgia mountains. We rode the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad from Blue Ridge, GA to McCaysville, GA, a distance of about ten miles.

Operations were on 154.600 with a PL of 162.2 Hz.

The Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad uses the Georgia Northeastern line (former CSX and L&N). I was unable to find any frequency info for Georgia Notheastern, either on the 'net or from searching the RR band while I was there.

It was a nice trip, we were in an open air car and it was freezing cold and windy!

Aha!!!

We live right in Ellijay (Next county south) and took the g-kids on there last month - Talked to the guide on our car and he popped open his W-T and read a label inside - 160.530 and .590, I think - Ususal RR band stuff - As you may have gathered, we heard NADA..

It probably was a passdown from a RR surplus pile and re-config'ed for the Biz-band freqs. (Which I never checked! ;-) )

Live and learn.. :)

(Which is why we rode INSIDE! :) )

When you live in South Florida, and make your reservations in May, the concept of "cold" doesn't seem all that bad!
