For those who haven't heard, Bob Grove is retiring 12/13 and publication of "Monitoring Times" will cease as will his store. Hate to see him go but we all strive for a future retirement, Cheers.
Has any one heard if any publisher is planning on filling the void? This is really the only magazine for scannerist, there are several pub.s for ham radio but not for monitoring.
I feel I speak for alot of people that this mag will be missed.
Hope there is good news in the near future.

On the original thread regarding Monitoring Times, I don't remember reading that his store was closing too. As a long-time customer, I was hoping that arrangements had been made for that to somehow continue. They sold some things, such as the 800 Max antennas, that were hard to find elsewhere. Is it certain that the store will also cease?

Hey all,

Just to inform the OP, and anyone else interested; MT was not the only mag devoted to monitoring, Popular Communications is still in publication and is published by the same folks who produce CQ Magazine.

http://www.popular-communications.com/

Now, having subscribed to both MT and Pop Comm (on and off in the latter case), I can say for sure that MT was the better of the two, by far.

Will I now subscribe to Pop Comm because of the demise of MT? No, not planning to!
