that sounds really bad!
Boeing 777 seating capacity for 314 to 451 passengers.....
we are getting this on CNN now

, The sheriff substation at SF General will be command post for all agencies on talk group 49200. Anyone local here who has fire talkgroup #s lemme know
EDIT picked up 14896 as prime handler so far, CHP air on 14800 for bay water search, 14832, and command fire is 14960
picked up some ground ops on 453.900

What system are you listening too? SF Trunked for those talkgroups?

**plane crash* at sfo int'l airport. Reported as an asiana 777 airliner crashed on landing - hvy fire + smk. Cmd req an alert 3, 3rd alm and mci plan in effect. 290 souls reported on board. (cins001/93/ap01/dc)

heard air search ops beginning on 122.875-AC said they're in contact with SFO fire on A6 (north airfield command TG 14960)

Does anyone know what runway this is on?

Runway 28L.

The debris field actually starts at the rocks before the 28L overrun and continues up the runway, so it looks like it landed short...

So what do you guys suppose happened-from what I gather, they caught the bottom of the tail hard at the approach edge of 28L with nose UP then spun?
