Structure Fire - Case Number 08-22
On January 2, 2008, at 9:24 A.M., Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputies, Boulder County Emergency Services, Sunshine Fire Department, Fourmile Fire Department, Boulder Rural Fire Department, Boulder Mountain Fire Department, Boulder Emergency Squad and Pridemark Ambulance responded to a cabin fire at 3476 Sunshine Canyon Drive.
The source of the fire was a small, propane space heater that had been left on to prevent freezing damage to the plumbing in the cabin over the winter. The cabin has significant damage from the fire.
The cabin is rented by All Seasons Chalice Church and used as an occasional guest house during the summer. The cabin was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

BOULDER COUNTY – Authorities say a propane space heater was the cause of a fire that burned a minister's cabin on Wednesday morning.
Fire crews say the unattended heater was being used to help thaw some water pipes and prevent them from freezing when the blaze started. The structure, located at 3476 Sunshine Canyon Dr., was a minister's cabin for All Seasons Chalice Church, an interfaith church in Boulder.
Five fire crews responded to the fire just before 9:30 a.m. and it was out shortly after they arrived on scene.
According to authorities, the fire caused significant damage to the interior of the cabin, but they don't think the structure is a total loss.
One witness threw snow on the fire, which fire crews say probably helped slow the blaze.
No one was in the cabin at the time and no injuries were reported, authorities say.
