I just noticed Uniden came out with a Non-US version of the BR330T called the UBC-3500XLT. Anyone know the differences between the two?

I noted there seems to be a step size different on the air bands but not much else.

I suspect like the AU version of the 396 that it may also carry different frequency ranges but I wasn't sure. In fact I'm not even sure the AU 396 does.

I have family out of the country interested in this new scanner and looking for my advise. Anyone know anything about the UBC-3500XLT or even the Australian 396T?

Thanks

Check the websites for UK radio retailers like Waters & Stanton for the spec of the 3500:

http://www.wsplc.com/acatalog/Uniden_Scanners.html

The variouis UK scanning lists will be out buying them in droves so expect reviews of them via those in the near future (not that many of the reviews will tell you anything of use)

So far from what little I've found it reads like it is just like the BR330T except the step size and the 25-1.3Ghz range, which I assume has no US-cellular gaps.

Sounds like I may be better off reccomending the Australian 396T version than the UBC3500XLT. Without trunk tracking on the 3500 the 396 might be the better choice. Anyone know details on the Australian 396 version, sep size, frequency ranges, trunk tracking, availability...??
